What we keep, and why
Last updated 5 October 2026
Ruckus SMP is a Minecraft server run by a parent. We keep as little as we can, only to run the game fairly and keep players safe. This notice explains what we store when you play on play.ruckusmc.com, visit this website, or buy from our store.
When you play
- Your Minecraft username and account ID: to save your progress (homes, Money, Points, keys, land claims, cosmetics).
- Chat messages and commands: kept in server logs so we can investigate reports of bullying, spam or rule-breaking. Our filter blocks messages containing bad words, links or email addresses before anyone sees them.
- Block changes and container access: logged so griefing can be undone.
- Your IP address: used for security: banning rule-breakers, limiting accounts per household, and blocking known automated scanner bots.
- Playtime and activity: counted in minutes to give playtime rewards; idle time isn't counted.
We don't ask players for their real name, email address, age or location in the game, and we don't have voice chat. Please don't share personal information in chat. Our filter tries to block it.
When you buy something
Purchases are processed by our payment partner, Tebex, which acts as the seller of record and handles payment details. We receive your Minecraft username, what was bought and the order status, so we can deliver the cosmetic. We never see full card details. Tebex's own privacy policy applies to the checkout.
When you visit this website
This site has no accounts, no ads and no tracking or analytics cookies. Fonts and images are served from our own site. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information (like IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
How long we keep it
Game data stays while the server is running so your progress isn't lost. Logs are cleaned up periodically. Ban records are kept for as long as the ban applies. Server backups are kept for about a week and then replaced.
Who can see it
Only the server owner and trusted staff, for running the server and moderation. We don't sell or share player information, except with the service providers above (hosting, payments) or when required by law.
Parents: questions and removal
A parent or guardian can email us to ask what we hold about their child's Minecraft account, or to ask us to delete it (we'll remove their progress and stored data, except records we must keep for an active ban or a purchase). Include the Minecraft username.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date above.
